Living with Purpose on Purpose
What’s that in your hand?
One of my favorite stories in the Bible is found in the book of Exodus, where God called Moses to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt. To give a brief history, Moses was tending his father-in-laws sheep, when he saw a bush burning, God called to Moses from inside the bush and told him who He was and what He was to him (Moses), He then gave him his assignment, “Go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” After he was given his purpose, Moses came up with excuse after excuse as to why he was not qualified to do what God called him to do; “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh?” he said, “They won’t believe me”, “And besides God, I can’t talk, can’tyou hear my stutter!?”
I’m always amazed at how Moses seems to forget who he was talking to; I mean hewas talking to God, the maker of heaven and earth. And if the one who created everything told him to go and do something, it would seem that Moses would trust that God would give him everything he needed to carry out his assignment. After all of his excuses and complaining, God asked Moses, What is that in your hand?” God was telling Moses that everything he needed to accomplish his purpose was within his reach.
You Have All That You Need
What about you, what is it that you’re not doing because; you don’t think you’re capable? Like Moses hiding in Median, because of his past, are you “hiding” in a mundane career, afraid to branch out and seek new opportunities to display your God given talents?
God was not taken by surprise by what we’ve experienced, nor is He unaware of what we think we can and cannot do. He knows everything there is to know about us and He still calls us and equips us with everything we need to carry out our purpose. As a matter of fact, everything you’ve endured has qualified you, you have the perfect qualifications; your resume is the bomb!
Take a moment and ask youself:
Are you really using your God given talents or are you hiding them?
Remember, you have all you need right there in your hand.

Some how you’ve managed to tap into the pipe lines of my present situation and light the lantern of hope so i can see the path that should be taken! Like Moses, I too am guilty of questioning the man whom created everything! Why is it that even with proof such as this from thousands of years ago, we still resort to what holds us back? God has given us the toolbox we need to complete the task he has assigned to us. The tool box he gives us has just as much purpose as the task, but we fail to open the tool box! instead we engage him (God, the creator of everything….even our purpose) in a battle of meaningless linguistic sedition that leads nowhere! EXCUSES ARE TOOLS OF INCOMPETENCE!! THOSE WHO USE THEM SELDOM AMOUNT TO ANYTHING!! Lord help me to see whats in my hand!
Thank you once again for your encouragement. You truley are a great inspirationn to me!! Keep up the GREAT work! for this is YOUR PURPOSE!
Peace and Blessings!
Love this!!!!! it really was a blessing! I’m going to share!. I believe we all have that fear and we do continually remiss that the ultimate problem solver is just a prayer away. I
Great message!! It reminded me of what Rev. Clay Evans said to my class at my high school graduation years ago.
