The Journey Back To You
Redeeming The Time

I once heard that we are the sum total of all we’ve ever experienced, that our life experiences create a way of thinking, negative or positive, and in essence that way of thinking will ultimately shape who we become.  As I thought about that statement, I asked myself, if I thought it was true.  And, if so, could I at this moment, change my future, if I changed my thinking?  I needed to find out so, I took a journey.

On this journey, I revisited my past, with special attention given to the experiences I told myself that I would never “speak about again”.  And, what I learned amazed me.   In light of all the heart wrenching things that I have lived through, and the key phrase is “lived through”, on this journey, I came to know and understand, that the mere fact that I experienced those things, actually has indeed played a part, a very significant part in my future existence and although significant, the truth is that it was my response to or belief in those circumstances that has made me who I am.

However, although I can’t change my past, I can change my future, you see, what I experienced did indeed have an effect on who I was prior to my journey, but, what I experienced did not define me and therefore, was not the sum total of me, at least not yet! Because I’m still here, there is still time and I’ve been told that God has a plan for my life, your life and  if I was going to redeem the years that were stolen from me and realize that plan, I had to start now and  Live Life with Purpose on Purpose!

Join me on my journey, and my prayer for you is that God will reveal to you the answers to the questions you have about you and like me, you will find your way back to you and ultimately to God and His purpose for your life!
